4 cops, 15 others injured in stone pelting during idol immersion in Ramgarh

Ramgarh: Nineteen people, including four police personnel, were injured in a clash which broke out during an immersion procession here late on Monday night. The police on Tuesday said 10 people have been arrested in the incident.The incident took place at Lari village under Rajrappa police station limits when an immersion procession of Saraswati idol was passing through. Parmeshwar Prasad, Ramgarh subdivisional police officer, on Tuesday said, “The crowd turned violent during the immersion procession. When the on-duty cops tried to manage the situation, the crowd started stone-pelting. Four police personnel were injured in the incident. They were taken to hospital and were released after first aid treatment. Several people were also injured in the clash later," he said.

“A total of 10 persons were arrested in this connection, while an FIR was registered with Rajrappa police station against 42 named and 150 unknown persons,” said Krishna Kumar, officer in charge of Rajrappa police station.
